Not just a place that make you feel comfortable - this hotel really goes above and beyond what you'd expect, and it's the little details that really make it special. You don't have to worry about anything: whether you're on business or on holiday, it's the perfect place to stay. It's an arty hotel, with really unparalleled views overlooking the Royal Palace and the Sabatini Gardens. Cosmopolitan, small and practical, with lots of history within the walls (including a museum of antique cars with the revolutionary Ford Model T, and iconic photos of Madrid in the 30s and 50s), it has a wonderful location close to Gran Via, the Plaza España, and the Royal Palace. A must in Madrid.
This hostel is one of the best I have found in Madrid in terms of value for price. With a perfect location, in an area with a great variety of restaurants, bars and cafés. It is just a few meters away from Puerta del Sol and it has very cheap rooms with all the necessities a guest might want.
For its location, it might be a little noisier during the weekend but my stay (during the week) was rather quiet.
We reserved Hostel Camino online. I'm fascinated by how such a small guesthouse can have such great online marketing. It's installed on the fourth floor of a building in Calle Hortaleza, just steps from Gran Via. It's a great location, in a quiet place, while still being very close to the nightlife district of Chueca, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The lady who looked after us was very nice, although she took a long time to register our details, give us towels, and explain how the internet worked ... the rooms are small and simple but clean. The prices were very low - 35 euros per night for three people in such a central area of Madrid was fine with me. There are eight rooms, but there's no common room. It's really just a place to sleep and shower. Our room had a small bathroom with shower, towels and soaps.
