One of the best things about this hotel is its location as it is right on Alexanderplatz in the heart of East Berlin. It's right next to the TV tower, and the building where it is housed is a landmark building in Berlin. Right next door are the Kaukof Galleries, which is a very famous chain of department stores in Germany. It´s a 5 minute walk to the Museum Island and Berlin Cathedral. Going to the Museum Island is also accessible by the Jewish Ghetto, a neighborhood that is really worth a visit. A few minutes away, but going to the left from the hotel, there is the Nikolai Quarter, where Berlin emerged, and where you can see the City of East Berlin. The hotel has 37 floors, 36 rooms, 1 dining room, and on the 37th floor is the Casino Berlin. The lobby is large, modern, and has a bar. There are 8 lifts, divided into 2 groups of 4. Four of them go up to the 21st floor reception and the other 4 only rise from the 22nd to the end. The rooms are modern and the most charming thing is the shower, fully integrated into the room. There is no actual bathroom but there is an all marble shower and a sink with a mirror and glass through which we see the inside of shower. The hotel is good but there isn´t much privacy in the bathroom. You also have a modern desk with internet access and a double wardrobe with a wet bar. The views from the hotel are spectacular and you can see all of Berlin. We were on the 23rd floor and the views were of East Berlin. The dining room, located on the first floor is huge with small tables. I recommend this hotel. If I go to Berlin, I´ll definitely return.
This hotel is an excellent value for the price. It is very new so the design and decor are very modern. Its location is unbeatable (Berlin-Mitte) as it´s only a 50m from the Alexanderplatz station. The area offers many places to eat and have breakfast if you don´t want to in the hotel since the breakfast buffet is a bit pricey. When we went the receptionist who greeted us was from Cadiz, so language was not a problem. The rooms are very clean, spacious and comfortable. Highly recommended (its 2 stars are equivalent to an average 4 star hotel in Spain). The hotel belongs to the Motel One chain and has two other hotels in other areas of Berlin.
On a low budget trip, three friends and I went to Berlin and found at a hostel called CityStay. We were very lucky because besides being primely located, the price was incredible. It is located in the center of Berlin directly across the street from Alexander Platz and a 2 minute walk from Museum Island! When my friends and I embark on an adventure, we´re always looking for good location and a good price and this hostel was definitely the best choice. It was a building built in the late nineteenth century and was restored with single rooms or ones for up to ten people. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was really good and the staff was very friendly and happy to recommend the best places in the area and the best places to go clubbing! Breakfast was a table full of breads and cereals, cheese and ham, tea and coffee. Internet available and a quite cozy lobby which was perfect for meeting more people. There was also a small bar serving drinks at great prices and it created a perfect environment to start the evening. This place can be an excellent choice for travelers who want to visit Berlin in a more youthful way by spending less and enjoying it more!
The Ibis Berlin Mitte offers 198 comfortable rooms. It is located on the outskirts of the city of Berlin, but with excellent transport links within walking distance, enabling you to be in the commercial center as well as the historic city within minutes. It has a bar open 24 hours a day and parking on the premises.
From the top of the Wombats Hostel in Berlin, on the wonderful terrace you can enjoy great city views, dancing in the clouds and relaxation while sunbathing. With this timelapse I enjoyed the 15 minutes it took to drink a rich Berliner beer. It was maybe 3 years ago when as a backpacker I traveled via InterRail with some friends. I must say that is one of the best hostels we stayed at. Highly recommended.
Arena Hotel is located in the center of the great cosmopolitan city of Berlin. In just minutes you can reach the spectacular Alexander Platz and the famous TV tower. The hotel enjoys excellent access to the main transport network so that you can visit the historic attractions in just minutes.
The train station S-Bahn Hackescher Markt is just 100 meters from this 4-star hotel, with a variety of shops and restaurants around, and Alexanderplatz is within walking distance - so its location is good. The rooms have a kitchenette, flat screen TV and modern furniture, new and spotless. It has a fantastic gym and two hot tubs that were usually empty, perfect if not for the snow outside, the water temperature is perfect. Very good breakfast. In short, a remarkable place that falls short because of the cold demeanour of the reception lady during check-in.
