Something different without having to go far

Excellent

Last weekend I went to Teleférico de Madrid, the cable railway of the city, with a friend from Palma who was visiting and doesn't know much about the capital yet. I thought it was an ideal way to enjoy the city and it was the opportunity for me to do something different without leaving home. Since I was a child I wanted to go there, so at 12, the opening time, we were standing in front of the door. They opened on time and we entered.

The first detail I loved is that they respect groups (if you go with partner or family) to place you in the cabin. In other similar attractions they fill the cabin up without considering who you came with. We went from Pintor Rosales to Casa de Campo, the was was awesome, I was explaining what we could see to my friend: San Francisco el Grande, la Almudena, El Palacio Real... even the M-30 road, the amusement park and even my house!

Madrid from the air

The cable railway of Madrid unites the area of Paseo de Rosales to Plaza de los Pasos Perdidos in Casa de Campo, going above Parque del Oeste, la Rosaleda, the old Príncipe Pío station and the Manzanares river. It was inaugurated in 1969 and it is 2,457 meters long and at a maximum height of 40 meters. The opening times depend on the month of the year and the day of the week, so it is safer to check their website. The price is 3.70€ (one-way) and 5.35€ (return ticket), according to the 2011 prices. To sum up, a visit I highly recommend in order to have a different perspective on Madrid... from

Working for 40 years

If you want some impressive views of Madrid, I highly recommend taking the cable railway connecting the park of Casa de Campo with the Paseo de Rosales, in Moncloa. This cable railway has been working for 40 years now and simply makes it possible to get to know the city from a unique perspective. The best time of the day to go is during dusk hours, when the views are the most spectacular.

Great plan

Well, this attraction is a lot of fun, it gives you the opportunity to see Madrid from the sky and walk in Casa de Campo, a great plan! I recommend it to everyone living in Madrid or visiting the city.

From the heights

I would not put it in the "attractions" category, but I must say the experience is quite fun. From the heights we can see Madrid during a trip that is quite long, but not too boring.

Once up there, you can have a snack/lunch/dinner or just have a walk there. I recommend going when it is not too cold or too hot.
