Cyclists in France

The climb to Alpe d'Huez . To get there, leaving Grenoble by Avenue Jean Jaurès, just follow the N85 from Le Pont-de-Claix, and go off to Briancon / Vizille and then the D1091. The climb is a succession of turns of 180 degrees or more, with a slope of over 10%. As summer vacation season the road was full of cyclists, men, women and kids, it is understood that there are cycling fans in France. You have to make the curves well because otherwise ... the ravine! Groups of motorcyclists are common, so always look at your mirrors, the next corner, down the cars and cyclists climbing. The summit is the typical ski town, with apartment blocks, restaurants and shops.
