American Association for State and Local History

American Asso. of State and Local History began in the year 1904, under the wing of the American Historical Association. Then it was called the Conference of State and Local Historical Societies, and later, AASLH broke on its own in December of the year 1940 to become the American Association of State of Local History. 100 years later the 1st organization was created to support the field of state and local history.
