The Salt Valley, located in the town of Añana, is an impressive salt complex.
Its formation goes back to more than 200 million years ago, when everything was sea. The salt remained underground and later came out in into the exterior through a phenomenon called diapir. The salt water comes out and after being exposed to the sun, the liquid evaporates and the salt remains.
Today, the whole site is being restored, but it can still be visited. You can end the walk with a relaxing soak of feet and hands in the brine. Moreover, the Valley is located in the beautiful municipality of Añana, close to Vitoria.
