Antica Osteria del Porto

This restaurant should be a must for anyone visiting Lugano. At least I enjoyed it. It's a 15 minute walk to the lake, through the park. It offers a good variety of Mediterranean and Lombard cuisine, which is a must in the Italian Swiss area. The atmosphere is perfect and the waiters are very kind. But the food, I tried a risotto that surely has become part of the pantheon of rice. It was excellent. The homemade desserts were also wonderful.
