1 review of Archaeological Museum of Barcelos

In the Palace of the Counts of Barcelos

The Archaeological Museum of Barcelos is an outdoor museum inside the Palace of the Counts of Barcelos. It's a historical museum with exposed architectural elements from churches and convents, stones with coats of arms from ancient noble houses, medieval sarcophagi, etc. The most important piece is the Lord Galo Cross (fourteenth century). The objects are distributed on the ground and totally out in the open, so I guess in a few years there'll be nothing left to show the city's history. The visit is free and the exhibition is open daily in summer from 9 to 19 and in winter from 9 to 17:30.
