If you are in Portugal, it is an absolute must to try the cod. This particular restaurant offers a menu with multiple options and fine wines. I recommend that you book because, especially on weekends, it can get very busy. Cando gets very busy and the staff leaves a bit to be desired, but I recommend patience, because when you try the cod, you will completely forget the disappointment ... Comer bacalao en oporto a buen precio

Me llama muchísimo la atención que el pescado que se cocine con más éxito en Portugal, sea precisamente el bacalao. Es increíble que en este país que tiene una costa atlántica kilométrica y riquísimo en pescado fresco que nada tiene que ver con el bacalao, se especialice en un pescado seco. Parece ser que los pescadores portugueses llegaban allá por el siglo XVI hasta tierras canadienses para capturar bacalao y de vuelta a su tierra los salaban para conservarlos durante el larguísimo viaje que tenían por delante y preparaban con este bacalao platos deliciosos durante el trayecto. No sé si esta teoría o no, aunque la realidad es que algunos de los platos de pescado que más éxito tienen hoy por hoy, son precisamente los que los pescadores preparaban en alta mar en sus largas travesías. Y bien es cierto, que no se le puede poner ni un pero a las manos portuguesas a la hora de cocinar el bacalao.

El caso es que yo que siempre me vanaglorio de comer de todo, nunca había probado el bacalao y ahora que lo pienso me tiro de los pelos porque en mi casa se preparaba un bacalao con tomate exquisito que durante años me negué a probar, la textura, el sabor... no me convencían. Pero con el tiempo, afortunadamente el paladar madura y los gustos cambian y hoy por hoy, yo que soy una gran amante del pescado, reconozco que es uno de mis platos favoritos.

Cod anyway, delicious

Este pequeño restaurante en la orilla del Duero, en Vila Nova de Gaia, con estupendas vistas a Oporto, tiene en su carta multitud de recetas con bacalao, tuvimos oportunidad de probar tres platos distintos (sopa, bacalao a la dorada, bacalao a la crema) y estaban todas deliciosas. No resulta tan económico como otros locales en Oporto, pero en relación a los restaurantes de la zona no era caro. Si tienes suerte de comer en la planta alta junto a los ventanales al atardecer, no olvidarás la estampa.

Cod for everyone

I'm not much to eat fish, but would definitely go back to this restaurant design modern setting, and with every conceivable way to cook a cod. I can still taste it like it was yesterday and affordable to all budgets. Very close to most of port wine cellars and an excellent deal.

Bacalao para todos los gustos

No soy mucho de comer pescado, pero sin duda regresaria a este restaurante de ambientación moderna de diseño, y con todas las formas imaginables de cocinar un bacalao. Aún puedo saborearlo como si fuera hoy y a un precio asequible a todos los bolsillos. Muy cerca de la mayoría de bodegas de vino de oporto y con un trato excelente.

Restaurante en Gaia, al lado de la bodega de sandeman. Tienen bacalo cocinado de mil maneras distintas. Probamos un alvariño de oporto, las lenguas de bacalao, los petiscos de bacalao, el ceviche de bacalao que nos encantó y el carpacio de bacalao. Y de segundo bacalao gratinado ( muy bueno) El postre nos sorprendió helado de leche merengada con galletas de curry. Muy buena combinacion. Salimos a unos 23 € por persona
