3 reviews of Beach 90 Miles Beach

Impressive

In reality, this beach is 90 kilometres long, not 90 miles, but it's pretty much the same thing, and it's equally amazing. At low tide, you can drive on it in a car at full speed because it's officially considered a road in New Zealand. At the end, there are giant dunes, down which people go on body boards and reach impressive speeds.

The way up

At the northern tip of New Zealand, climbing the Te Paki Sand Dunes is a required activity after the long journey. I took this photo after a long afternoon. A family was trying to reach the top of one of the highest dunes to start playing with their sandboards.
