Blakesley Hall Museum

Blakesley Hall Museum is one of the few wooden-framed buildings left at Birmingham. The lounge was built in 1590 by Richard Smalbroke junior, who wanted to show his growing prosperity, with a comfortable new house. For example, the living room contains a long gallery and murals normally reserved for much larger houses. Blakesley Hall is a late example of Tudor style of the aspiring middle classes.
