Cafetaria Village Underground Lisboa

A Jenga of Creative Spaces

Great

Village Underground is an artistic community, architecturally and sustainably composed of old shipping containers and buses, recycled, renovated and stacked like Jenga. Hidden in the neighborhood of Alcântara and just a 6-10 minute walk from the more popular LX Factory, the site is situated at the very back of the Museu da Carris, and serves as creative co-working spaces for various independent Lisbon ventures.

This place is great to pop in on, because it's a unique vision they've carried out, and makes for some really memorable photos. You can completely walk around the structure, and may find some of the co-work spaces open or functioning as stores in which you can take a better look.

Meal on Stationary Wheels!

Great

It's not everyday you happen upon a cafe that has been converted to what it is from a recycled old Double Decker bus, but that's exactly what you get if you visit the Village Cafe in the Lisbon's Underground Village creative space in the Museu de Carris in Alcântara.

You can opt for the tables and shade of the outdoor space below if you're easily claustrophobic, or on a hot day, enjoy the air conditioned experience of eating in a stationary bus! Prices aren't too sympathetic, after all, there's really no competition in the area. But they make a refreshing Mojito and have some nice salad and tosta options.
