Calnic Church

The church in Calnic is situated in the fortress which has the same name. Together they are classed as a UNESCO world heritage site. The entrance fee costs 5 RON and you can access everything, including the bell tower where you can see the original bells which used to call the inhabitants for Mass, and also, during the invasions, to take refuge in the fortress. The church is small and quite a modest place. There are some great decorations such as the Orthodox, it is a Romanian Catholic Church. There used to be a chapel, in the same place. But in 1430, the owners sold the fort to the town, and painted this chapel with white walls.
