Castello sforzesco

The Sforzesco Castle is wonderful. In addition to finding a great place to spend an afternoon, especially in its gardens, its interior is also lovely. Each room is a treasure, not only for its exhibitions, monuments and sculptures, but the ceilings are wonders in themselves. Each room has a different one and each are wonderful, some with heraldic shields, others with stars... Spectacular!

One of the most emblematic monuments of miln.

Sforzesco Castle The Sforzesco Castle (Castello Sforzesco) was built as a fortress during the fourteenth century and is one of the most emblematic monuments of Miln. It now houses some of the best museums in the city. Sforza castle of the fourteenth century. The truth is that it is not my favorite castles but you can spend a pleasant morning watching their Fresh imposing If you like FEEL overwhelmed by castles and palaces like I am am, here I doubt that does not happen, it s, the castle is perfectly integrated in the city and almost enjoying both outside and inside. The original building was an initiative in 1358.1 of the Visconti family, according to the wishes of Galeazzo II. This castle was known as Castle Porta Giova (or Zubia Porta), by the name of a door cercana.2 The construction concluded nearly a decade later ms when turned into a castle square with 200 m side, four towers in the corners and walls 7 m espesor.2 Galeazzo II, died in 1378 being his sons Gian Galeazzo, Giovanni Maria and Filippo Maria Visconti. What happened on the throne Gian Galeazzo was demonstrated soon ambitious and bloodthirsty. His enthusiasm sponsorship LLEV to the creation of valuable architectural works such as the Certosa di Pavia, the Cathedral (Duomo) of Miln and the enlargement of the fortress of Porta Giovia. The castle was the main residence of the Visconti family and was destroyed by the ephemeral Republic Ambrosiana Dorada that overthrew in 1447.

More than a castle ...

This fifteenth century castle hides more than the former residence of the Duke of Milan, saved numerous museums including the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Ancient Art, and is the gateway to Sempione Park, a beautiful park that hides the Civic Aquarium. This entry is free. Returning to the castle, the Torre del Filarete impressed with the watch, its round watchtowers surrounding the building and the now dry moat surrounds it. Inside make many cultural activities, apart from the museums, when we were in his courtyard had a small concert. Before reaching the castle you find yourself faced with a famous statue of Garibaldi on horseback. To me I love castles enjoy seeing one as big as this in the middle of town.

The sforzesco castle

The Sforza Castle is a fortress which has the distinction of being the city center. The castle is unmistakable and imposing. It was built by Francesco Sforza, then Duke of Milan, in the fifteenth century. It is built on the ruins of an ancient citadel. Once past the porch of the main entrance, you find yourself in a huge rectangular courtyard. This is because none of the four original side is similar to another. The two round towers protected the water tank. After court, another porch leads to the castle which was before the residence of the Dukes of Milan. The castle is now a museum.

I'm very close to a castle little kno...

I'm very close to a castle little known but very nice, is located in my country of origin: Galliate. Unfortunately, or rather fortunately, in Italy we have a large number of museums, churches, historical works of various kinds so that many remain in oblivion. The castle of galliate deserve much more attention! The castle was built on the orders of Galeazzo Maria Sforza in 1476 replacing an earlier Visconti fortress. After the death of the duke construction work stopped and was resumed only in 1496 by Ludovico il Moro. Since 500-600 has undergone several transformations, but it did not change the fundamental structures. Today is predominantly owned by the City which has undertaken restoration work to restore the castle to its former glory. Despite all the vicissitudes, the castle has retained its essential characteristics and all its grandeur: The wide moat was originally more than 20 meters wide and the building itself was a quadrangular crenellated walls has more than 3 feet thick. The 4 corners are the towers, there are also two other towers on the long sides to the south and north, containing the main entrance doors, fitted with a time of drawbridges and ramparts which were used as battiponte. The castle has a climate more Renaissance bridge and strings. A particular particularly dear to me is the presence of the statues that symbolize Work, Heart, Mind, Soul, reminding us and telling us fine as children what are the values of a good Galliate.

The sforzesco castle

With the Duomo second attraction not to be missed in Milan. Located at the end of the Parco Sempione, it's free to visit the outside. If it is worth admiring the works of museums it hosts (art, histoir), however it will pay an additional ticket. We liked we walked in the main courtyard to admire the perfectly preserved four rounds.

A castle in the city

This fortress belonged to a Milanese gentleman named Francesco Sforza, patron of Leonardo Da Vinci. It really is a very small castle and inside it has a place where you can come for free. In this square is what stands the Filarete tower with clock. Moreover, within the Archaeological Museum found the Museum of Ancient Art where the last sculpture Michelangelo did.

His name brings to the fifteenth century, the time of Francesco Sforza, who wanted to rebuild in 1400, but the origin of the castle is older.

One of the symbols of milan

I was never able to visit the interior, but the Sforzesco Castle impresses with its appearance. It has always been a symbol of Milan, which were reflected the changes in the city since the fifteenth century. Today it is a cultural reference point for all the people of Milan. Every time I go to Milan for a walk in these parts is a must.
