Central Market

The Castries Market at the end of John Compton street (right where Jeremy St. begins), facing the bay. The building is quite large, and it's enclosed and surrounded by arcades. It was designed by Bruce & Still Company Ltd. and it opened in July 1894. Inside the building there are all kinds of groceries (meat, fish, vegetables, etc.) where all of the locals do their shopping, but the outdoor area is more tourist-friendly because there are stalls with crafts (basketry, wood carvings, t-shirts, etc.) that are open every day, but Saturday is market day. That's the day the local farmers come to sell
