Central Public Market

I really like to visit markets, and I came to this public market in Porto Alegre where I bought a kilo of mate and some spices. Here, in the historic centre of the city, you can really feel the essence of the place as you see merchants coming and going, trying to sell their fish and many other products. There's an artisan market as well as places selling freshly prepared food. Highly recommended.
