2 reviews of Chapel of the Oratory

Very original for the century

The street on which is built the small chapel of the Oratory was the first city to be paved with stones of the Rhone, the river nearby. It bore the name of "La Salita". The Oratory make first build a chapel consecrated in 1714. The works are very slow, with many architects until 1750. The elliptical is original, with large open dome windows and decorations. Above the main altar you can see a small religious hand. The large wooden altar comes from the chapel of the White Penitents. With the revolution, everything that has to do with religion has been eliminated. It is a club of patriots, and a deposit of weapons.
