Church of Baños de Agua Santa

Baños is a small town in central Ecuador, halfway between the Andes and the rainforest. The thermal waters, which are very hot, are reputed to be miraculous. Many people make the pilgrimage to the baths to heal disease and disabilities. All the miracles attributed to the city of Baños de Aguas Santas are thanked for by the parishioners in their small church. Built in colonial style, the church is in the town's centre, surrounded by beautiful mountains, waterfalls and the Tungurahua volcano, which peaks at over 5000 meters. You can try the hot springs at in various places throughout the village.
