Church of la Pietà

2 reviews of Church of la Pietà

Known for music recitals and exhibitions

In Castello district, facing the Grand Canal and close to St. Mark's Square, it's known for music recitals and exhibitions (Antonio Vivaldi directed several music groups and wrote numerous cantatas for choirs of this church ). Oval in plan, it's an eighteenth century church built by Giorgio Massari, inside there are 3 frescoes of Tiepolo (on the roof there's the Triumph of Faith fresco) and the altarpiece of the Visitation of Piazzetta.
