Church of Mercy

The church is in a large square in Gois and its longitudinal plane is composed of a single nave and semicircular choir chapel. The right side has the rectory and sacristy attached. The building is early sixteenth century, but was profoundly modified in the nineteenth century. It's known that the work began in 1867 and lasted until 1887. Today we can find, in this nineteenth century building on one side of Santa Rita, carved wood images dating back to the sixteenth century and on the other side, Our Lady of the Conception (Nossa Senhora da Conceição) from the eighteenth century.
