A famous local church

This church has become one of the most famous in Badajoz, located in the historical centre, in the pedestrian street that runs between the Cathedral and City Council to the Espantaperros Tower. It was built in 1790 by Ventura Rodriguez on the site formerly occupied by the old church of the Convent of San Gabriel; it is of late Baroque style. The most remarkable thing about this church, is its magnificent dome topped with candelabra, and the main entrance (with the arms of Manuel Godoy, and others of the Franciscan order).
