Cirque de Cilaos

The Cilaos Cirque is one of 3 mountain cirques on Reunion Island. Along with Salazie, these are the 2 places on the island that can be reached by car (the Mafate cirque can only be explored on foot!). Cilaos surprised us with its authenticity. Here, time seems to have stopped and the streets are populated with colourful houses and exquisite Creole food restaurants. Hiking enthusiasts have an ally in Cilaos.
