Cooperativa de Argán

All cooperatives working to obtain argan seeds to make oils and creams are formed by women. Tamanar is the first to be formed in Morocco and, following this, two more have opened in local areas. It features the only argan shrub grown in the area between Essaouira and Agadir. The local towns sell the argan derivatives produced here. Also there are many stalls in the various souks and markets in the area. This cooperative gives a good idea of how oil is produced (both edible and cosmetic) and also creams and perfumes.
