If you spend an evening in Trieste, I recommend you go here, if only for a quick drink. It's practically an institution in the city. The kitchen is simple, but very good. The dishes range from fast food, to an excellent beef tenderloin. There are also great cold cuts and cheese, and particularly noteworthy truffles. But if you go during the day, you'll find that it's not just a location for the evening; it's also a good wine shop, and is always crowded at lunch time.
