El Paraje Natural de El Hondo is located between the towns of Elche and Crevillente, both belonging to the Bajo Vinalopó, south of Valencia, Spain. If the Vinalopó river hasn't run dry, it flows into the lagoons of this park.
Its geographical coordinates are 38 ° 12 'north latitude and 0 °' 42 'west longitude. The park is included in the Ramsar international convention for the protection of wetlands and the European Directive SPAs as Special Protection Area for Birds.
