The best representation of Illinois

In affiliation with the Lincoln Park Zoo, there is a barn set up across from the South Pond/boardwalk in Lincoln Park. So if you are in the area and think you are hearing mooing, don't worry. You're not imagining anything.

The farm is complete with a dairy center, goats, bunnies, pigs, and ponies. If you are from any major metropolis or urban areas in the rest of the world, this will be the best representation of Illinois by far. Illinois is mostly farm lands and rural settings. This gives great insight into what most of America is like.

It's also extremely education for kids

Farm in the City

This area is especially for little kids and is part of the Lincoln Park Zoo, but is in a separate space. This is an authentic farmhouse in the middle of the city and is sponsored by the tractor manufacturer John Deere. It is not a petting farm, where children can touch the animals, but rather is a farm in which groups of volunteers perform all the tasks in view of visitors. One can see how cows are milked, for example, or watch the chicks hatching. If you're lucky, you can also try some of the products grown in the allotment ... Admission is free.
