Fountain of Escura Street

1 review of Fountain of Escura Street

Retains the name of its original location

Actually, this fountain isn't on Escura Street but on Pena Ventosa Street, just below Cathedral Square in the Batalha neighborhood, but retains the name of its original location. It was built in the seventeenth century in granite and has two female figures on both sides of the pipe where the water came, it was the figure of a pelican. At the top is a decorative frieze with the royal coat of arms. A little further down is the Pitões Tower (or Tower City).
