One of the most spectacular roads in the world

The coastal road linking Melbourne and Adelaide is perhaps one of the most spectacular roads in the world and it certainly ranks high on the list of Australian tourist attractions. The trip itself is about 1000 kilometers. There are so many things to see along the way so it would be a shame to not spend three to four days on it. Obligatory stops on this route include the stunning cliffs of the Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and the impressive lighthouses as Split Point. Not everything in life are cliffs or lighthouses, the "Great Ocean Road" also has stops with great Rests Maits path or charming towns like Port Fairy.

The Great Ocean Road is a road that runs along the South West coast of Victoria between the towns of Torquay and Warrnambool. A 150 km from the state capital, Melbourne, this road is the tourist from Australia. It runs along a hilly and winding coast. Great cliffs of beautiful sandy beaches, it is home to well-known in Australia as the rock formations of the Twelve Apostles or the "London Bridge" natural monuments. At the southern tip of the coast, the road crosses the Ottway National Park. A fleet of temperate rainforests where there are small communities of koalas, the animal icon of Australia with kangaroo. Moreover, it is possible to observe the wildlife. Just be patient and have a good look because their gray fur makes them almost invisible in the leaves of eucalyptus. This road is very touristy and this contrasts with the West Australian much wilder. There are very good infrastructure and the road crosses many small resorts such as Port Campbell and Apollo Bay.

Great ocean road: magnificent!

It has been recognized as one of the most spectacular coastal route in the world. It is located along the southwest coast of Victoria and covers about 243 km. It starts from Torquay to Warrnambool. By the way, you will enjoy magnificent views of the Bass Strait Anglesea Apollo Bay. The rest of the route is not less spectacular with towering cliffs and rock formations that emerge in the midst of a very rough sea. You will discover these fabulous natural wonders through hiking trails along the coast of the Castaways (Shipwreck Coast). During our trip, we are arriving at an altitude or snowing but that only lasted a short time, it's pretty impressive. In summer the beaches are packed with people, he spanked not especially warm to our visit and the sea was rough. Unfortunately we have not done all the way. If I have to revisit, I would at sunset, it must be beautiful. Here are some pictures of our little escape and the rest is on my personal blog.

Great ocean road : magnifique !

5 ... 4 ... 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

5 days, 4 goon, three people, two mice, one van. And surprisingly, this is the summary of our time on this beautiful coastal road south of Australia driven from east to west. 5 wonderful days of Lorne to Apollo Bay and Torquay, Princetown, Gibsons Steps, Loch Ard Gorge, Bay of Islands, the Grotto, London Bridge, the Arch, Port Campbell and Erin in the roadhouse ... Not to mention the most famous installed between land Apostles baked by the sun and sea removed that day ... Koalas in the forest of giant eucalyptus Kenett River. Lighthouses and views. Hiking in the interior. A road that is very similar to the UK (according to my companion Breton van), and my Corsica (on my west coast). 4 "goon" or cubi wine, because that's what it took for us warm ambient cold ... 3 2 mouse and human unintentionally embedded in our session apple picking near Cobram. 1 van, very leaky, but robust enough for us to have led 10,000 km away. An unforgettable experience, shared with two men whom I knew very little, which is now my big brothers heart. Marvel, share and experience, this is what unites us.

5...4...3...2...1...

This road has 243kms along the south-eastern coast of Australia. Begins near Melbourne, in the town of Torquay, and ends in Warrnambool. It was built and dedicated to soldiers killed in World War 1 and is along the sea routes of the most impressive of the Australian coast! Sure sounded to me very much like the coast in Portugal ... The landscapes are very beautiful and are always kangurus and koalas on the road, be aware that ha! The most tourist are the 12 apostles. A collection of 12 rocks carved by the sea, all near each outras.Neste moment only 7 rocks, but it remains one of the most tourist itineraries in Australia! It's worth spending a night there to see things easy!

Long and winding road

The Great Ocean Road stretches for several kilometers. At each side of the road the scenery is simply breathtaking and wonderful. The Great Ocean Road is nearly 300km long. It is possible to see Koalas in the bend of a road. For my part I could see the Great Ocean Road in a storm and calm sea is quite unique ...

One of the attractions of australia.

The Great Ocean Road is a road built by the veterans of the First World War. It is the birthplace of surfing, with endless beaches and clear waters revolts. Throughout the journey there are detours to visit amazing places, like a rainforest, Apollo Bay or the 12 Apostles. The sign indicating the start of the road is the original, retaining marks a fire that nearly destroyed the arch.

Can be one of the most beautiful road in the world, at the Melbourne departure towards Adelaide along part of the southern coast of the dfiles kilometers over a succession of beautiful scenery as each other.
