Homage Tower

The Keep is the most impressive part of the Castle of Bragança. It lies in the center of the Citadel and is noted for its large square, with the surrounding walls 6 feet tall. In the upper zone there are four circular towers. On the south side you can see the coat of arms of the House of Avis (the monarch who initiated its construction) as well as several Gothic windows. The tower has five storeys inside and can be visited as it houses the Military Museum.
