Lala
Built by Sancho I in the twelfth century
Guarda was founded in 1199 by King Sancho I, who built an impregnable cliff top castle surrounded by a walled enclosure between the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, and destroyed in the nineteenth. The only things preserved are the Keep and a very high tower with a square base, topped with battlements and surrounded by cliffs. The inside can be visited and there are spectacular views across the city and the Sierra de Estrella.
