2 reviews of Hōryū-ji Temple

If you are really interested in the history and culture of Japan, it is worth a visit.

The Horyuji (法 隆 寺) is a Buddhist temple which is situated in the Japanese province of Nara, in an area called Yamato (大 和), in the ancient region of Asuka (飞鸟). This place is considered to be the origin of Japanese culture. This place, in addition to being the oldest temple in Japan, has among its buildings the oldest wooden structure in the world, dating back to the Asuka Era, ie more than 1300 years. Not to mention it houses relics that can be seen in the prefectural museum. If you are really interested in the history and culture of Japan, it is worth a visit.
