Husavik is on the north coast of Iceland, and is a fishing village right at the border of the Skjálfandi Bay. Husavik is frequently referred to as the capital of whales, as whale watching excursions generally end in success. If you want to see a whale, come here! In Húsavík boat trips can be whale watching in the Bay Skjálfandi where they have 98% success to see whales and dolphins. The coast of Husavik, colonized by the Vikings, was the oldest settlement in Iceland. Along the road is the church of Husavik, the Húsavíkurkirkja, a wooden building imported from Norway in 1907.
