1 review of Drymen Parish Church

Very modern for its history

I've read a lot about this rural church. Built in 1771, it is quite remarkable, because the architecture seems more like something from the early 80's! In no great hurry, I explored the structure, which has the appearance of many buildings joined together over a long period. It was renovated not too long ago, hence the surprising appearance, and stands next to the local cemetery, where you can see tombstones dating back to the founding of the church. It has always been a part of the Calvinist Church of Scotland, although some tombstones, too faded with age to read, could date from even earlier.
