Jerte Valley

You don’t just have to visit the Jerte Valley when the cherries are in bloom. It’s beautiful all year. If you start at the Interpretation Center on the highway between Jerte and Cabezuela del Valle, you can also visit the Garganta de los Infiernos.

The La Virgin and Los Pilones fountains, the Monument to Memory, the mountains, cherry trees, and the Jerte reservoir are all perfect places to get lost any time of year. There are also some charming villages and the region’s cuisine is exquisite.

The Jerte Valley changes its look depending on what time of year you visit.

When the cherries are in bloom, it looks like a sea of white beckoning you to explore. When the cherries are ripe, it’s an indescribably beautiful sea of red. This is my favorite time of year. And when there are no flowers or cherries, it’s still a wonderful natural park that’s home to the Jerte River.
