Jewelery and Greek Cosmetics

In the museum is a great and important gallery devoted exclusively to cosmetics, beads and small female figurines. All these objects come from Myrina, an ancient Greek city on the coast of Asia Minor, dedicated to the rider of the same name. In this city there was a clear predominance of women both in power and social importance. When archaeologists found the ruins of the city, they opened more than five thousand tombs and in most of them found these little figures dedicated to beauty or love.
