The Kansas State Capitol is one of the most prominent landmarks in Topeka, Kansas and a must if you’re passing through the city. The highlight of the Kansas State Capitol is its impressive artworks, especially the large murals and frescoes that adorn the second-floor galleries and the main dome. Anyone who paid attention in their American history classes will automatically recognize the “Tragic Prelude” mural located on the second-floor. It’s one of those priceless pieces of Americana that’s even more moving when you see it up close.
