Glaciers and Volcanos

Along the trail through the Snæfellsnes peninsula, west of Iceland, towards the Snæfells Glacier area, we passed Kirkjuffell. It is a volcanic mountain in Grundarfjörður in line with the sea. It is easy to see why this mountain is called Kirkjufell, the Mountain Church, as it it looks like a church roof. It is 463 m high. Note that Danish sailors call the mountain "Sugar Top".

Kirkjuffell

Seeing this amazing piece of nature while staying in the small town of Grundarfjörður was amazing, and especially at 11 at night!
