La Casa Encendida

La Casa Encendida is one of my favorite cultural centers in Madrid. It is a place of artistic innovation and cultural experimentation, specifically oriented to young people and people who like avant-garde activities, without forgetting about the elderly or the kids of the neighborhood, for whom they also have various monthly activities.

It is located on Ronda de Valencia, subway station Embajadores or Lavapiés. The cultural program offers shows, cinema, exhibitions or other manifestations of contemporary creation: apart from the magnificent exhibitions they also plan concerts, cinema series, and even workshops of various activities for a very competitive price.

I thought about it twice before writing about it ob minube because, if it gets overy popular and full, I'll have lost one of my quiet spots in Madrid. The terrace I am talking about is located above the cultural center La Casa Encendida of Caja Madrid (the benevolent work of this bank), it sometimes houses exhibitions, but the best part is sitting down on the bean bags and reading or listening to music with a stunning view of the roofs of Madrid and you can choose sun or shadow according to the time of the year.
