La Mesa de Los Mareantes

I've been to Luarca many times, but it wasn't until last year during a guided tour that I discovered the Bureau of the Merchants. This is where the Guild of Merchants and Navigators met for 8 centuries to decide what should be done. For example, whether or not to go to sea because of the weather. In front, there are 15 colourful mosaics depicting the story of Luarca. Above, there is a fortress. Below, there is church of the cemetery where Severo Ochoa and his wife are buried, and it offers a breathtaking view of the town. An interesting and beautiful site.
