Lake of Banyoles

L'estany of Banyoles (situated in the province of Girona) has an area of ​​107 hectares and a characteristic figure-8. As is the case with the other lakes, there is a legend about a creature that lives in the water. According to a legend dating back to the 7th Century, a great beast took shelter on the shores of the lake. The monster, was the last descendant of the prehistoric beasts who used to inhabit the region.
