Mdina Cathedral Square

2 reviews of Mdina Cathedral Square

Historic and powerful

This small, narrow square is almost always in the shade. It's the clearest example of what the capital used to be. Three things speak of the more historic and powerful Malta from olden times, which defended itself as well as others, from all kinds of invaders from every continent on the basis of faith and labour. These include ecclesiastical power, powerful families that built luxury homes, and the two powerful guns that protect the door of the cathedral. Canons located at the gates were used, if necessary.
