Very high quality, authentic japanese restaurant

After trying many of them, I think this one is the best Japanese restaurant in Madrid, at least the most authentic one (I guess other ones like Kabuki are slightly better but not as authentic).

It is located in a narrow street behind Gran Vía, if you are coming from Moncloa, for example, the best is to go up Leganitos and look for a parking place. Something important before going: Tuesday is supposedly the best day to go, you will get the freshest fish.

Even though we already know some unconditional fans of Miyama, we ordered the sample menu (38€ each). Well, before that, before we sat down even, I was surprised by the fact that there were two tables with Japanese people wearing suits. Japanese people in a Japanese restaurant in Madrid? Yes! This tells a lot about the place.

The meal was delicious, full of delicacies, things I had never tasted in other Japanese in Madrid, at least not as good. We were told to order the "Ebi Fry", apparently impressive, but we decided to leave it for next time.

I also liked the atmosphere a lot, the only bad point was the smell (I'd rather have a kitchen smell than an air freshener).

Of the best japanese restaurants in madrid

It is one of the best Japanese restaurants there are in the entire city of Madrid, in the value for price (the quality is impressive). You can eat at a table (the room is not very large so I recommend booking) or at the counter: one of the best Japanese counters. The menu is very extensive and has variety: sushi (you really have to try the bull and tuna ones), makis, nigiri, tuna tartar, etc.

There is a lunch meal (18.80€) of sashimi, nigir, miso soup, tempura, drink and dessert. You also have a "businessman's lunch" a little more expensive (25€).

Advice: according to the urban legend it is better to go on Tuesdays because it is the day when the fish arrives. I recommend it!

One of the best japanese restaurants i have tried

It is Tuesday and I just went to Miyama. I don't know if it is because the legend is true or not, but I can assure you Miyama is one of the best Japanese restaurants I have tried!

A few months ago they recommended it to me and I had the opportunity today. We orderded vegetables tempura, chicken teriyaki with spices and a selection of nigiri. Impressive.

Everything was delicious. We ordered the menu only and with drinks and coffee it was 40€. I thought it was rather cheap for the quality of the food.

As to the decoration and the atmosphere, it is very meticulous and with modern decoration. A stunning place for a business lunch or dinner, or to go with your partner to enjoy one of the best Japanese meals in the capital.

A new place of worship

After having read the last comments about the new Miyama, on Castellana 45, we decided to go and I have to say I loved it. Great quality in the raw material, as the one in Flor Baja also has, but with a much more extensive menu, including some great cocktails in the drinks sections (do not miss out on the amaretto please!).

As a main dish we had the new style sushi, never before had I seen such makis: instead of wrapping them up in seaweed, they were with fish, those of bull and lemon fish were impressive. One of the most surprising things were the desserts, different from the usual green tea sorbet you have as an only option in most Japanese restaurants. There you have real delights. We ordered various of them to share, and I will remember the miso ice cream: you finish it and you don't know whether you are having something sweet or salty. Simply amazing. I also liked another one that had crushed ice with mint.

For the unconditional of Japanese food in Madrid, here you definitely have a new worship place.

Authentic

In my last birthday surprised me with dinner at this restaurant and I loved it! Is very close to the Gran Via, which has its drawbacks if you are driving and its advantages if you drink then. Just off the Miyama Miyama opened the San not confuse them, for even being owned by the same letter is totally different. As I am novice in these foods, leave the menu choice in the hands of my companion, the first to arrive at the table was a seaweed salad, but this did not ask that they serve as an invitation, while the dishes arrive you asked, we start with nigiri (salmon, red shrimp, prawn and toro tuna belly that is), I have to say that I really liked and that I had my suspicions .... continue with vegetable tempura and chicken teriyaki complete a, but really wanted to try the "Iberian pork sauteed with ginger" so we have the excuse to return. The perfect restaurant staff, ambiance and price idem as great, being one of the best Japanese restaurant in Madrid there according to the experts thought that the bill would be high but it was more than adequate for the quality, flavor and quantity, it is also true that we drink water and we skipped dessert because I could not eat more.

En mi último cumpleaños me sorprendieron con una cena en este restaurante y me encanto!! Esta muy cerquita de la Gran Vía, lo que tiene sus inconvenientes si vas en coche y sus ventajas si luego quieres tomar algo.

Justo al lado del Miyama han abierto el Miyama San no los confundas, pues aun siendo de los mismos dueños la carta es totalmente diferente.
Como soy novata en este tipo de comidas, deje la elección del menú en manos de mi acompañante, lo primero en llegar a la mesa fue una ensalada de algas, esta no la pedimos sino que la sirven ellos como una invitación, mientras llegan los platos que has pedido, nosotros empezamos con nigiris (salmón, gamba roja, langostino y toro que es ventresca de atún), tengo que decir que me gusto mucho y eso que tenia mis recelos.... seguimos con una tempura de verduras y para terminar un teriyaki de pollo, aunque en realidad queríamos probar el "cerdo ibérico salteado al jengibre" así que tenemos la escusa para volver.

El personal del restaurante perfecto, el ambiente idem y de precio pues estupendo, siendo uno de los mejores restaurante japoneses que hay en Madrid según los entendidos pensé que la cuenta seria alta pero no, fue mas que adecuada para la calidad, sabor y cantidad, también es cierto que tomamos agua y nos saltamos el postre porque yo ya no podía comer más.

I always repeat what you can afford!

Never tried Japanese food and for my first time, I have to admit that I loved! I could not tell the names of the dishes we ordered, but everything was great, from appetizer we ordered a mojito that make a typical liquor Japan, can not remember his name, but the taste was spectacular. The waiter, Johnny, treated us great and advised us great.

Repetiré siempre que me lo pueda permitir!

Nunca había probado la comida japo y para ser mi primera vez, tengo que reconocer que me ha encantado! No sabría decir los nombres de los platos que pedimos, pero todo estaba buenísimo, de aperitivo pedimos un mojito que lo hacen con un licor típico de Japón, no recuerdo cómo se llama, pero el sabor era espectacular. El camarero, Johnny, nos trató genial y nos aconsejó de maravilla.

Totally advisable. Not cheap but very reasonably priced. Good care and most authentic Japanese I know of Madrid. Moreover, one of the few Japanese in the Japanese eat I've seen, I think it is to be taken into account. Moreover, the public is diverse in age, number of guests, etc..

Aconsejable totalmente. No está barato pero tiene un precio muy razonable.
Buena atención y de los japoneses más auténticos que conozco de Madrid.
Por otra parte, es de los pocos japoneses en los que he visto japoneses comer, creo que es para tenerlo en cuenta.
Por lo demás, el publico es muy variado en edades, número de comensales, etc.

Good jap

I ventured down last Friday to leave the gigs after reading the peer opis. I tell ... The site is just a tad but as we were two could sit, darling with this if you are going to get a big group. In all the time we were tooodas tables were occupied (3:30 and were supposed to have eaten people at that time). We ordered the menu 3 and 4. Some suggestions of sushi, nigiri, maki etc. We left at about 13-14 € per person (not supplied the drink). I liked that it was all very good, very good again. Accustomed to Asian restaurants "Japanese menu" I wanted to try something good. Achieved. What I do not like is finished quantity. For the price you pay is the issue of fill your stomach but for that go to a Wok, no?. Lossy means more quantity is clear but not .. the detail of "half a banana" as seasonal fruit dessert, loses much. Or chikiti salad bowl with half alguilla. I have yet to pull back and menu ... 'll inform but for now my advice is to go off menu. And a little more, a hug

Buen japo

Me animé a ir el viernes pasado al salir del curro después de leer las opis de los compañeros. Os cuento...

El sitio es un pelín justo pero como íbamos 2 pudimos sentarnos, ojito con esto si vais a ir un grupo grande. En todo el rato que estuvimos tooodas las mesas estaban ocupadas (y eran las 3:30 que se supone que la gente ha comido a esas horas).

Pedimos el menú 3 y 4. Unas sugerencias de sushi, nigiris, makis etc. Salimos a unos 13-14€ por persona (no viene la bebida).

Me gustó que estaba todo muy bueno, repito muy bueno. Acostumbrado a los restaurantes asiáticos de "menú japones" me apetecía probar algo bueno. Conseguido.

Lo que no me terminó de gustar es la cantidad. Por el precio que pagas está el tema de llenarte la barriga pero para eso vete a un Wok, no?. Menos calidad implica más cantidad esta claro pero no se.. el detalle del "medio plátano" como postre de fruta de temporada, pierde mucho. O el chikiti cuenco de ensalada con media alguilla.

Tengo pendiente volver y no tirar de menú... volveremos a informar pero por el momento mi consejo es ir fuera de menú.

To go back and back and back ...

I had heard very good of Miyama and indeed did not disappoint. The tuna tartar was great but the California Roll me crazy! The service very attentive and friendly. Do not miss out only for special occasions, as you get a chance ... try it, diligently!

Había oído hablar muy bien del Miyama y efectivamente no decepcionó. El tartar de atún estaba buenísimo pero el California Roll me volvió loca!! El servicio muy atento y amable. No lo dejes sólo para ocasiones especiales, en cuanto tengas oportunidad... pruébalo, repetirás!!

Just fantastic! We descended some friends to spend the weekend in Madrid and if we knew it was something we wanted to go to a Japanese, seeing the reviews on minube did not hesitate and we made the reservation. 100% recommended, an exquisite, very good raw material. All scrumptious.

Simplemente fantástico !! Bajamos unas amigas a pasar el fin de semana a Madrid y si algo teníamos claro era que queríamos ir a un japonés, al ver las críticas en minube no lo dudamos y realizamos la reserva. 100% recomendable, un trato exquisito, muy buena materia prima. Todo riquísimo.

Well without enthusiasm

It is a good restaurant. You pay because you eat well. However, it is not something extraordinary. Not a genuine Japanese: would lack either luxury or bustle, commotion and crowd. A rte. Madrid with Japanese food.

Miyama, i jap with foundation

One of the ones I like, in terms of food and place laezvla. The service is very good and the price to pay for it, in my opinion, very reasonable. Convenient book, as it is not very large.

Para los que les gusten los japoneses lo más interesante es que la calidad es muy buena, tienen platos al estilo Miyama, es decir únicos, aunque llevan salsa y a mi personalmente esto me supera. Me pareció caro para la cantidad que dan. Entrad en mi blog y podréis comparar con otros japoneses a los que he ido que me parecen mejor de precio y de buena calidad como Samurai, Donzoko o Janatomo.
