Irish Museum of Modern Art

The Irish Museum of Modern Art is an interesting visit because it's housed in a castle near Kilmainham Gaol. When you first arrive, the impression is that you're visiting a prison, but it's actually the museum. It is the country's largest modern and contemporary art museum and it's surrounded by lovely green places and, of course, the magnificent castle. However, if you only have little time to visit Dublin, there are sites that have more interest in terms of Irish culture. The main collection includes over 4,500 works of art and the museum tries to get works by living artists so they can get their opinion and thoughts on the works.
