Monument to the Count of Arnoso

This monument is on the left bank of Largo da Republic of Brazil towards the middle of the avenue and it goes unnoticed as it's a bit hidden in the vegetation. It's a bronze statue of Bernardo Pinheiro Correia de Melo who was born in May 1855 in Guimarães. He was a famous Portuguese writer who was appointed Count of Arnoso in 1895 and private secretary to Carlos I.
