Monument to the Nispero

At the entrance to the village of Sayalonga, you will find this monument in honor of the medlar, a fruit popular in the Axarquia and also a famous party held in the area, held on the first Sunday of May in the harvest season when the fruit is ripe. This sculpture was created in honor of the men and women of Sayalonga and the many generations who, for decades, have worked with wisdom, effort and sacrifice in our fields. It is for the humble peasant, simple and anonymous with dignity and who has been farming all his life.
