Monumento a la Primera División de Infantería de Varsovia, Tadeusz Kościuszko

This monument is one of the first things you see when you cross the bridge to the district of Prague. The first time I saw it, I thought it was depicting a giant, because it is huge, over 12 meters high! It depicts a soldier of the First Infantry Division in Warsaw, Tadeusz Kościuszko, who extends his arm to try to assist the Warsaw Uprising insurgents. The First Infantry Division TK could not cross to help, since all the bridges that went from Prague to Warsaw were controlled by the Nazis, hence the symbolism of the outstretched arm.
