1 review of Moray - Speyside Region

Beautiful region

Excellent

The Moray- Speyside region is the strip of land found between the cities of Inverness and Aberdeen. You must keep in mind that this is not the north of Scotland, but rather what could be defined as the southern part of the north. Its capital is Elgin, the largest city in size and importance. It is a charming city that exemplifies the attractions that this part of Scotland has to offer.

The Malt Whisky Trail is very well known here and is a place where you can find plenty of distilleries. In fact much of the malt whiskey consumed worldwide comes from this area. This region produces wines of a soft palate and are mostly imported abroad. But this region can not be reduced to this. Here you will find endless white sand beaches from which you can observe seals, whales and dolphins. There are also plenty of historical monuments to check out such as the Elgin Cathedral (called North Lantern), Pluscarder Abbey (the only medieval monastery, Benedictine, fully operational with 22 monks) or Huntly Castle, one of the most enchanting in the UK and possibly Europe.
