Andean Rituals Museum

This interesting site is an ethnological museum which displays the rites done with corn and cocoa. These are Peru's two most known products. The museum is next to the Church of St. Peter the Apostle (san-pedro-apostle). It is open from 8 to 4 everyday and admission is voluntary. The funniest thing to see are the mummies, in which we can observe the deformation and trepanning skulls that were made. No one knows for sure why there were these deformations unless they symbolized a certain social position of the individual. In pre-Columbian cultures, aesthetics signal as a symbol of distinction for a given group as warriors.
