Palace of the Pinheiro (two Solar Pinheiros)

The Palace of the Pinheiro (Solar dos Pinheiros) is an amazing 15th-century building built against the Pillory of Barcelos, on a promontory with views of the river Cávado. It is a National Monument Portugal. It is a stone building in the form of U with 2 towers at the corners. Although Pedro Esteves was commissioned in the year 1448, it is known as "the Pinheiro", since on the outside it shows the coat of arms of Alvares Pinheiro.
