The magic of the Thames

We visited London's Parliament in November and, despite the cold, the magic of the Thames enveloped us. The absolute calm water reflection shows Big Ben. It's also a perfect place to take pictures, especially for photography enthusiasts who will find that the most beautiful photos are in black and white.

Palace of Westminster

The House of Commons and the House of Lords are located in this impressive palace of Westminster on the River Thames near Trafalgar Square. It is a Gothic Revival building and was designed by architect Charles Barry. It was built between 1840 and 1860. The famous Big Ben, the clock tower of the palace, is here. Your site is very comprehensive and can arrange a free visit when no session in Parliament.

Excellent

The Palace of Westminster together with Big Ben is a majestic sight. Comparable only to monuments such as the Eiffel Tower or Statue of Liberty to combine their iconic image with the emblem of the country. Beside Westmisnter Bridge to the Thames and very cercade both Westminster Abbey and the London Eye as you can appreciate the beauty of this magnetizing unique building in the world.

Seen from the Thames

Trip to London, tired of walking and biking we decided to relax with a stroll along the Thames with very nice views along the way. We saw the London Eye (ferris wheel) and continued to Tower Bridge, there and back, it's worth it and don't forget as well as seeing a lot of places you'll save a few pounds.

Big Ben at Sunset

I went to Westminster in early Feb. expecting overcast and grey skies. Instead I saw a great sunset behind the houses of parliament which I shot using a long exposure. The other shot shows a bus going over Westminster bridge,

Amazing!

Birthplace of democracy even if under siege currently
